Thanks for this. "Safe and effective" was also the slogan for thalidomide.

A lot of the athletes ended up very badly, some dying of cancers, heart problems, eating disorders, depression, etc. There is no real way to do a study on just how badly and what percentage because many have died and the remnants of that government wouldn't allow it.

That is how these women on testosterone will end up, and they already are in many cases, which lawsuits will reveal.

And all the doctors and activists who did this will pretend like they don't remember anything.

I’ve been to the DDR museum in Berlin life in east Germany was terrible . No choices or freedoms . Poor mothers and daughters who were subjected to this control .

Re: the increased libido of the female athletes from taking testosterone, I also read somewhere that an abortion clinic was never too far away to deal with another unwanted side effect of increased testosterone levels.

Lucy, once again this article shows your courage and your compassionate heart. You have often voiced your concerns regarding safeguarding women, mothers and children, and now you make it very clear that you are also worried about a string of lies that harm poor victims of hypermedicalized cosmetic interventions that promise the impossible.

Sharron Davies lost a gold medal because of this at the 1980 Olympics.
