There are around 11M children graduating each year. Assume 0.03% are trans, perfectly split boy / girl (it’s not) and 20% want surgery that’s around $1.7 M rev for the procedure. Not even close to sustaining $5B - it’s around 3000 times lower. The numbers don’t work.
And how do they get it done? According to NIH there are 71 clinics specializing in trans in the US. Many states have none at all. However there are 10,000 clinics specializing in Cosmetic Plastic Surgery.
The Plastic surgery rev estimate from Forbes is $27B, I trust Forbes.
I’d expect the revenue to be at the highest possible around $1M.
