Sickening. I wish it were more common to acknowledge surrogacy as the child abuse it is.

Though it may be harsh , i believe anyone who is willing to damage an infant/human for life by creating it just to have it ripped from its mother is not fit to have a child at all. It’s a selfish and damaging first act towards this little human… the truth is that children are not something anyone is entitled to 💜 (at the expense of the child, and also our society, which will be made up of more and more of these children)

And at the expense of the mother too; she also suffers. The fact that you don’t see rich women selling their babies rather suggests those women who do do it are desperate for the money, and often for the sake of their other children. What a mess the patriarchy has made of our lives. A society that valued women and children would surely not allow this.

Speaking as a self-identifying ontologically female and epistemologically uppity radical lesbian feminist, I venture to hypothesise that in seeking the liminality of a queered parenting non-relationship, this researcher will inexorably crack his narcissistic head open on the boundaries of reality. In the interstices of chronological time between now and that as yet unknowable future, he may well manage to fashion his liminalised daughter-commodity into a lifelong basket case. Yet in the chronotope of here and now versus there and then and nowhere and never, the silently angry acquiescence of other parents belies the openly lucid reactions of their children, in the struggle between materiality and fantasy.

Succinctly summarized Bronwyn! He really thinks he's a clever boy, doesn't he. That poor little girl.

Years of working in academe and having to deal with the genderrrrr studies bunch gave me a thorough instruction in the BS and the lingo. I had to wade through reams of pomo gunk in order to criticise it. I’ve read more of Derrida, Kristeva and Butler than i ever would have wished to.

I know the feeling! It's actually a technique for bamboozling the "peasants" and feeling superior. If you use enough big words, your readers will assume not that you are a complete asshole, but that they must not be bright enough to understand, therefore you are right (even if what you said is meaningless). My position has always been that if you can't explain something (even if it is complicated) to others in a manner that renders it comprehensible to them, you probably don't understand it very well yourself.

Poor Greta. No child deserves such a monstrous narcissist as a father.

How very disturbing. Poor child.

This is horrific, disturbing and highly deranged. This should be condemned and made illegal!

Omg. I feel literally sick with sadness for this poor child & with anger at this man’s utter selfishness. It’s just horrible, the whole thing.

I get the impression the only reason this man was able to have a child is because he could pay someone to have it for him. Surely he should still be subject to the scrutiny that adoptive parents go through? He doesn't sound to be of sound mind...but the ruling of what that means has been massively marred by "inclusivity" in recent years which is quite worrying.

There is largely no scrutiny around surrogacy, so many men who can't adopt (because they wouldn't "pass" an adoption inspection are going for surrogacy because all they need is enough funds. And of course, then it's easy to bypass any pesky mothers too. There is a growing number of older men in the UK (and probably elsewhere) who are gaining babies via surrogacy, and they are doing nothing illegal.

I believe that as people age their natural traits become stronger than the traits that are nurtured in childhood . hopefully it will all work out well for Greta. I think inevitably she will grow up and rebel against her ludicrous father.

Yay - go Greta

How is every single comment here not screaming that this is CHILD ABUSE!!!

The mental, emotional and physical anguish this girl will face because her gay male purchasers will coerce, bully, manipulate and force every part of her life into a queer shaped hole is abuse.

You want to be gay, have at it. It's not my choice and goes against my religious beliefs, but live and let live, so long as you don't impose it on me and you leave the kids the Fck alone. These babies, though commodified, are not puppies that these gay couples get to pick up at the store in the mall, because "I want one like the other families on our street".

Sorry, Tab A fits into Slot B for a reason and if you don't like that model fine, but you don't get to fuck up some child's life, for your selfish affirmations.

Kids always pay the price for the perversions, depravities and cowardice of adults. These kids are being abused and virtually no one is batting an eye over it.

Ironically, if Greta were a puppy, it would have been illegal in many jurisdictions to remove her from her mother until at least the age of two months.

I wonder if someone on here knows about rescuing this poor baby from this horrible situation. She really needs to be in a normal home , not with some mentally disturbed individual! The sooner she is removed from this situation the better!

Gerda,

This is where the woke, queer, lbgtFU capture of not only our governments but agencies that should intervene in cases like these - where the deranged person (gay or straight) - openly lays out their planned abuses.

There is no one to go to, sadly and we all have allowed this, with our collective slurping at the trough of tolerance and acceptance - for decades.

Elections have consequences and those people don't participate in (especially at local levels) have major consequences.

Unfortunately, for this girl to be rescued, she will have to be the victim of sexual abuse and it will have to be exposed/reported, before the authorities will lift a finger.

Pray for her.

I would not call him father; at best he would be the (procuring) guardian. It takes a father to make a mother, and vice versa.

I don't even like the word guardian here; let's just stop at "procurer".
